A slice a day keeps the sad away – and there are a lot of slices at SO Pizza. SO Pizza is located in Zurich near Helvetiaplatz in a beautiful corner building with large window fronts.
When you first step into the restaurant of Darius Notz and Yven Vogel, you feel like you are set back in time – so retro! The location impresses with simplicity and its colour choice. The green pastel colours harmonize perfectly with the unique golden lamps on the ceiling, which come from the former hotel Dolder Waldhaus. This casual ambience is even more pointed out by rustic and lofty brick walls.
A quick glance at the menu confirms: Simplicity is key! Done with decision difficulties and perpetual "I don’t knows", based on the motto: sharing is caring. A big salad bowl is placed on the table for self-service, but the main focus is undoubtedly on the wafer-thin pizzas, which are served directly from the hot oven to your table – just grab a piece if you like it. The pizzas come in all different variations and tastes. From classic pizzas all over to pizzas with truffle or radicchio rosso. There are no limits to the imagination. Of course we could not resist the urge, so we had to test ourselves through all the creativity of the pizzaiolo. And guess what? We never met pizzas like these before. Simply mouthwatering and anything but boring. All the sweet-toothed people will not be missed out either, because there is Nutella Pizza to make you happy. Especially mentioned should be the exquisite espresso, which highlights the quality and dedication of this restaurant. So simple...so good!
Altogether a fresh and modern concept, which brings a new breeze into Zurich’s gastronomy scene and sets new standards in price setting. Highly recommended.
