A Little Special Something | Max & Otto
Even before all restaurants had to close for a looong time, we were allowed to visit the restaurant “Max & Otto” which belongs to the Europehotel. We only share this blog post with you now, because we wanted you to be able to visit the restaurant and test it yourself!
Fortunately, the time has finally come! The restaurants are allowed to open again indoors and outdoors. We have also allowed ourselves a "forced break" and are glad to finally be able to blog again.
The Max & Otto is located right next to the Opera House and is characterized by its stylish interior design reminiscent of the earlier, trendy times. They focus on the familiar and simple things , which evoke memories of the past. They simply love the combination of hospitality and good food. The main values of their cuisine are seasonality, local products and quality to create familiar and classic dishes.
When we tested the restaurant, we chose the beef tartar and a special lentil salad. Both appetizers were very tasty and beautifully presented. Especially the lentil salad with cottage cheese was super refreshing and the lentils had “the perfect bite resistance”.
For the main course, we were not surprised that these plates were also beautifully presented. On the one hand we enjoyed cod fish with beetroot risotto and ravioli with figs. We liked both combinations and both dishes had that special something. The color combinations on the plates also came out very nicely. That's what we like!
Even though the dishes on the menu tend to pass for classics at first glance, you realize that it's a bit more special once the dishes arrive on the tables. Not only in terms of appearance, but also in terms of taste, Max & Otto rounds off the dishes and proves with creativity that you can also make a very special thing out of simple things.
